An Unexpected Morning
One morning, a guest staying at the hotel contacted us saying, “The air conditioner remote isn’t working.”
I went to the property immediately — replaced the batteries in the remote, changed the signal channel, unplugged and reset the main unit.
Occasional facility issues do occur, but when guests smiled, I felt truly relieved.

思いがけない朝
ある朝、宿泊中のゲストから「エアコンのリモコンが動かない」と連絡がありました。
すぐに現地へ向かい、リモコンの電池を替え、電波チャンネルを切り替え、本体を抜き差ししてリセット。
何度か試して、ようやく動作が戻りました。
イレギュラーな施設トラブルはたまに発生しますが、ゲストが笑顔を見せてくれたとき、心からほっとしました。

A Moment of Calm
From October 10th to October 13th, I visited a calligraphy exhibition at the Kyoto Museum of Culture with a friend.
The gentle movements of the brush and the quiet ink strokes filled the room with a calm rhythm.
In the stillness that followed the bustle, I suddenly felt beauty.

静けさの時間
10/10から10/13まで、京都文化博物館で開催されている書道展に友人と訪れました。
筆の柔らかな動きと、静かににじむ墨の表情が、空間全体に穏やかなリズムを生んでいました。
慌ただしさのあとに訪れる静けさの中に、ふと美しさを感じました。

Stay Like a Local
Running an inn means days where bustle and tranquility coexist.
Yet it is within that contrast that I find the richness of living in Kyoto.

宿の運営は、時に慌ただしさと静けさが共存する日々です。
でも、その対比の中にこそ、京都で暮らすことの豊かさがあるように思います。
